Framework of wild carrot, cluster of stars,
obsolete sunshade, diminutive of autumn
harbor us now as we wander into darkness– far from the sun, its ray and disc.
Inside out umbrella, keep us in this winter
and from straying
toward those others where the snow berried grandmother
feathers a nest
for the mole.
